Volunteering Opportunities with Family Action in Peterborough
Local charity Family Action are looking for motivated volunteers to join their enthusiastic and dynamic team to support families with complex needs in Peterborough.
This is an exciting time to be joining Family Action, as they have embarked on a new and forward looking strategy of modernisation and growth.
Volunteers will be trained, supported and supervised to deliver a range of support.
Prospective volunteers need to be highly self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills and the willingness to communicate creatively and effectively with families with children age 0-19 years of age.
Family Action currently have two volunteer opportunities both working in the Peterborough area:
These are flexible posts which will be adapted to the interests, experience and skills of the post holder. Likely tasks may include:
Troubled Families Volunteer
Supporting families within the home around routines and boundaries.
Supporting families to engage in local activities, attend meetings or appointments.
Mentoring families at risk of neglect
Supporting work within school settings.

Health Champion Volunteer
Supporting families, pre or post diagnosis, of autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) or attention hyperactivity deficit disorder. (ADHD).
Supporting families to access groups and activities in the community.
Providing families with emotional and practical support.
Providing home visits on a weekly basis for a short-term period.
