Follow Me: living the saying of Jesus

Ian black
Ian Black, Vicar of St. John the Baptist, Peterborough, and Canon Residentiary at Peterborough Cathedrals has a new book about to go on sale; the book explores what it means to live the sayings of Jesus today.

The official publication date is 1st July, but he will be selling copies in St John’s Church on Sunday 11th June after the 11.00am service with a soft launch and a special launch offer of £6.00.

Copies will also be available in the Cathedral over the heritage weekend - Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June at the same special launch price - after that £7.99

The book which explores what it means to live the sayings of Jesus today, is based on statements in the gospels which set out what anyone needs to do if they are serious about being one of Jesus’ followers.  These are grouped under eight themes: acts of loving service, the commandment to love, prayer, money, forgiveness, self-sacrifice, mission and the Eucharist (Holy Communion).

It draws connections between what Jesus said and how we live today in all its messiness and complexity.  Each chapter ends with a series of questions for private or group reflection and a prayer.

Ian will be happy to sign copies at the soft launch on 11th June.
