Peterborough Foodbank are seeking to recruit volunteers
Peterborough Foodbank was established in 2012. Since then we have grown and developed.
We have 1 large warehouse in Woodston, 10 foodbank centres, over 60 referral agencies and over 100 dedicated volunteers.
Our aim is to demonstrate the love of God by helping those in poverty. We provide emergency food parcels to local people who are struggling. We want to fight food poverty in our city and ensure that no-one goes hungry.
In developing our project, we have a group of committed volunteers who have agreed to take on specific roles to support the work of the Foodbank.
We now have a few vacancies that we would like to fill. We would love to find people to fill the following roles:
Volunteer Co-ordinator – to help support and look after our amazing volunteer base
Faith Co-ordinator – to help raise awareness with local and existing supporting faith groups and provide regular feedbacks and updates to them
Agency Co-ordinator – to help run training sessions for new agencies wishing to become voucher holders and help provide information and support to this group
The time commitment for these roles is low, perhaps 6 hours a month and is flexible to suit the applicant.
If you have a passion to help others and are interested in volunteering, or just wish to find out more, please email Juliet Welch, Foodbank Manager or call 01733 311156.
