Tuesdays till Two - 8th May: The Berridge Consort
The Tuesdays Till Two season continues with a début: the first professional appearance by new vocal ensemble The Berridge Consort.
When: Tuesday 8th May
Where: St Johns Church, Church Street, Peterborough, PE1 1XB
In a programme entitled “Consort and Choral Music of Scotland” they’ll be performing music written by Scottish composers, from the court of James I of England through to contemporary composers such as James MacMillan.
The concert will begin promptly at 1pm. Admission is free, but those who are able to afford it are asked to make a donation. The suggested amount is £5.
As usual the St John's café will be open from noon, staffed by volunteers from The Green Backyard, and a selection of hot drinks and home made cakes, scones etc will be on sale with all profits going to support the work of The Green Backyard.
About The Berridge Consort:
The group was formed last year during the members’ time in the prestigious ‘Genesis Sixteen’ programme run by the Sixteen to coach promising young singers. Throughout the year, they gave performances in masterclasses with The Sixteen’s founder Harry Christopher, associate conductor Eamonn Dougann and members of The Sixteen.
This is their first outing as a professional group, which they hope will be the first of many as they embark on solo, consort-singing and choral careers.
The singers are:
Lottie Bowden & Ellie Partridge (Sopranos)
Becca Leggett (Alto)
Jonathan Hanley (Tenor)
Nathan Harrison (Bass)
