FREE half term activities at Peterborough Cathedral!

Half-term activities
Come and enjoy a host of fun and free events that are happening during May half term at Peterborough Cathedral.

An interactive ‘Sensational Science!’ exhibition for families – ‘COSMOS Roadshow’ – will provide hands-on exhibits, shows and activities for all the family to enjoy. Experience an illuminating illustration of how your mind and body work together to let you sense the world around you. From the anatomy of the ear to the eerie ‘velvet hand’ illusion, it has to be seen to be believed!

‘COSMOS Roadshow’ is happening from Saturday 26th May to Sunday 3rd June (Monday to Saturday – 10.00am to 4.00pm; Sunday – 12.00 noon to 3.00pm) in the Cathedral New Building. There is no need to book – just drop in. Donations are welcome to cover costs. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Time Explorers is also returning – this time with ‘Time Explorers: Normans’. You can experience the story of Norman Peterborough through family craft activities – constructing a castle for Tout Hill for Abbot Turoldus, making a chest to hide treasure from Hereward the Wake, and creating an arch to help rebuild the Abbey after the fire of 1116!

‘Time Explorers: Normans’ takes place from Monday 28th May to Friday 1st June at the Cathedral Nave from 1.00pm to 4.00pm. There is no need to book – just drop in. Donations are welcome to cover costs. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

In addition, there will also be daily ‘Scone Making’ classes at Becket's Tea Room – our amazing 14th century cafeteria. These will be held from Monday 28th May to Friday 1st June – at 10.00am, 2.00pm & 3.00pm. We’ll even let you eat them afterwards!
