Tuesdays till Two - 12th June: The Dolce Flute Quartet

The DolceThe last of our spring season of Tuesdays Till Two concerts features four up-and-coming flautists studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

In a programme entitled “A Journey from Mower to Mendelssohn” they’ll take you through whirlpools, midsummer dreams and the beautiful French countryside.

  • I – Whirlpool
  • Pierre-Max Dubois – Quator for Flutes
  • Jean-Michel Damase – Quatour de Flutes
  • I – Allegro Deciso
  • II – Andantino
  • IV – Allegro vivace
  • Claude Debussy – Arabesque no.1 arranged for Flute Quartet
  • Felix Mendelssohn – A Midsummer Night’s Dream Overture transcribed by Kyril Magg


The concert will begin promptly at 1pm. Admission is free, but those who are able to afford it are asked to make a donation. The suggested amount is £5.  

As usual the St John's café will be open from noon, staffed by volunteers from The Green Backyard, and a selection of hot drinks and home made cakes, scones etc will be on sale with all profits going to support the work of The Green Backyard.
