Local Christian Charity chosen as one of Mayor's charities

Winter Night Shelter A
Light Project Peterborough, has been chosen as one of the Mayors charities for 2018/19.

This is a great boost for the local charity whose aim is to "reveal Jesus" by practically demonstrating the Christian faith and serving the local community with particular concern for people who are marginalised.

They aim to achieve this through encouraging partnerships with the local Churches thereby creating a body of volunteers to better serve their local community as well as supporting other local organisations to help people in Peterborough.

Light Project Peterboroughs major focus of ‘Transforming Homeless’ in Peterborough has seen 3 successful years of the Peterborough Winter Night Shelter, Day Time Provision, a Mentoring programme and community volunteering/work projects. All in place to help those who want move off the streets into sustainable community living.”

The Mayor, Councillor Chris Ash has also chosen Alzheimers Society and DeafBlind UK.
