14th August:  Lunchtime Concert – Leon King (Viola)

Leon King 246x130St John's summer season of concerts continues with a solo concert by viola player Leon King.  Entitled “The Composer as Craftsman” and featuring works by Hindemith, Bach, and Leon King himself, the concert will explore the limits of harmony and dissonance.

When:    Tuesday 14th August
Where:   St Johns Church, Church Street, Peterborough, PE1 1XB
Time:      1pm

As usual the café will be open from noon, serving a range of hot drinks and homemade quiche, cakes, scones etc. All profits from the café will go to The Green Backyard.

The concert will begin promptly at 1pm. Admission is free, but those who are able to afford it are asked to make a donation. The suggested amount is £5.

Paul Hindemith (1895-1963) – Sonata for Solo Viola Op. 25 No. 1 (1922)
J. S. Bach (1685-1750) – Suite no.1 in G major
Leon King – Suite for solo viola (2017)
