Wednesdays at One talks at Peterborough CathedralWednesdaysatone

The Wednesday at One series of talks aims to inform, illuminate and inspire the listener.

As well as the address, the format of the service includes a hymn and prayers.  On the second Wednesday of the month, Wednesday at One takes the form of a Healing Service when there is the opportunity to receive the ministry of laying on hands.

The service starts at 1.00pm and concludes at around 1.30pm. Afterwards, a light lunch is served in the South Transept - all funded by donations.


The current series is entitled “Some Greats of the Church” with talks led by various cathedral clergy as follows:

  • 30th January - Martin Luther
  • 6th February - Aidan and St Francis
  • 13th February - St Clare  
  • 20th February - a new series begins entitled Community Matters and on this date they also welcome the Take Note Community Choir.
  • 27th February - Beki Sellick will talk about Fair Trade with an opportunity to buy produce
  • 6th March - Steven Pettican and friends will speak about The Garden House, Light Project Peterborough’s Homeless Day Centre.
  • 13th March - Femi Olasoko, Church Urban Fund’s Near Neighbours Coordinator will talk about her work for neighbourhood cohesion in Peterborough and offer opportunities for community groups in the city of all faiths and none, to receive support.

The following series will be Lent related with a mixture of music performed by the Cathedral Organ Scholar, Adam Wilson and reflections from among others, Chris Dalliston, Dean of Peterborough Cathedral.
