Good Friday Walk of Witness - 19th April

Walk of Witness
Today, when the cross and all it stands for is seen as no longer relevant in the lives of many, there is an urgent need for a powerful ongoing and public statement of faith.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if every Good Friday, in every Town and City in our land, there was a walk of witness to the Cross and the Saving Power of Christ?

Thankfully here in Peterborough, Churches Together in Central Peterborough have organised this event for many years and this years details are below:

When:   Friday 19th April
Where:  Meet at Stanley Recreation Ground, PE1 1SZ
Time:    10am

After leaving Stanley Recreation Ground the procession will move to Cathedral Square where a Good Friday service will take place.  Hot cross buns and other light refreshments will be available afterwards at St Johns church and at Westgate New Church.

The centrality of the Cross and the celebration of the Good Friday message across the denominations, provide the opportunity for a united witness to the people of our nation.   Whilst this is taking place in the City Centre it would be wonderful for people from Churches across the whole of Peterborough to come and walk together and to worship together in the open air.

The times demand and our nation requires a strong and ongoing witness to the Christian belief and this most special of days gives us a wonderful opportunity to do just that.
